Enables connection of the Coho XC trailer to bikes with 12mm rear thru axles. Multiple thread pitches and lengths are available. Stock thru axles are not able to accommodate any sort of axle mounted hitch system. A Burley Ballz Thru Axle is required for any bike with a 12mm rear thru axle to use the Coho XC. The Burley Ballz Thru Axle is not compatible with all carbon fiber bike frames (consult manual).

Available sizes of the Ballz Thru Axle are compatible with the following axle sizes. The thru axle is slightly longer so that it can stick out on the right side of the frame to attach the Ballz hitch mount.
- 12 x 1.0 tp, for 142-148mm hub spacing (160-174mm actual length) — Includes 1 conical spacer and 1 flat spacer
- 12 x 1.5 tp, for 142-148mm hub spacing (172-178mm actual length) — Includes 1 flat spacer
- 12 x 1.75 tp, for 142-148mm hub spacing (174-180mm actual length) — Includes 1 flat spacer
- 12 x 1.75 tp, for 142-148mm (Long) hub spacing (192-198mm actual length) — Includes 1 flat spacer
- 12 x 1.5 tp, for 177mm hub spacing (209mm actual length)
- 12 x 1.75 tp, for 177mm hub spacing (209mm actual length)
