Review: Burley 16+ Wheel Kit

The Kids Bike Trailer team took the Burley 16+ wheel kit for a spin to test out. Here is what we thought...

 We tested the wheel kit out with the Burley Encore X kids bike trailer. The wheel kit is compatible with most Burley trailers. Please refer to the compatible list- link here  to triple check if your trailer fits the wheels.

Ease of use: The Kit includes two 16×3” push button wheels. They were really easy to fit using the easy to use push button design on the Burley wheels. 

Handling: The day we went for a ride it was pouring with rain and we were in a very wet forest! The tyres handled brilliantly! The wheels that are wider and more rugged, certainly offered superior handling on the unpaved surfaces.

According to Burley "this wide knobby tyre enables travel over snow, sand and gravel". 

A wide range of acceptable tyre pressures let you adjust the stiffness to your liking.

Comfort:

The real test for the wheel kit was the opinion of the little riders! And I have to say, it passed with flying colours. No complaints about the comfort and the passengers were having lots of fun.

We did let a little air out and so the tyres soak up the bumps for your passengers.

Appearance: Also I have to say these tyres look pretty cool, they are constructed with aluminum rim/hub and stainless steel spokes.

Why not HIRE the wheel kit first? We know the tyres are a little pricey and so well worth hiring first to 'test out'. We offer hire for 1 week to 12 weeks.
