Jogging Stroller Advice: Burley D'lite X vs Out n About Nipper Sport
Are you trying to decide between a dedicated stroller which is just for strolling/jogging (such as, the Out n About Nipper Sport) and a bike trailer which converts to a jogging stroller (such as the Burley D’lite X)?
The Out n About Nipper Sport strollers are set up ready for jogging, whereas on a Burley Multi-Activity Trailer such as the Burley D'Lite X you will need an additional Jogging Conversion Kit which is a separate attachment. Here are a few thoughts to help you decide between the Burley D'lite X vs Out n About Nipper Sport...
Advantages of Out n About:
- The Nipper Sport has an awesome handbrake for jogging which the Burley multi-sport trailer doesn’t have.
- The Out n About strollers are lighter weight and easier to fold.
- If colour is important to you, the Out n About comes in array of different colours such as red, grey, blue, black. Whereas the Burley D’lite X just comes in the sky blue colour.
- Pricing wise, the Nipper Sport is much cheaper than the Burley. For example the single Nipper Sport is £459 vs the Burley D’lite X which is £819. However it is worth noting this blog is comparing vs the Burley D’lite X, the Burley Encore X (*double) is slightly more affordably priced and offers many of the same features & benefits of the D’lite X

Advantages of the Burley D’lite X Bike Trailer:
- If you like to bike, run, walk and ski and are looking for something adaptable, the Burleys are great high quality multi-sport trailers!
- The Burley D’lite X comes fitted with comprehensive coverings from the elements such as a mesh window, as well as a roll-down plastic cover for rain or colder weather, sunshade & rear window for extra ventilation. Whereas on the Out n About trailers the UV cover is an additional add on.
- On the Burley D’lite X the seats recline and it comes with adjustable suspension.
- The Burley D’lite X offers more storage room in the rear of the trailer than the Out N About strollers. It can also be converted to a cargo trailer which is a neat feature!

Both the Burley trailer and Out n About Stroller come with a single and double passenger option.
We don’t recommend the Burley D’Lite X for everyone. If you just need a bike trailer or are on a budget, opt for a cheaper Burley option instead.
Both the Out n About strollers and Burley trailers run smoothly with 5 point safety harnesses, suspension and are very easy to use! Both brands offer quality, safety & performance. We would always recommend to stay clear of cheap trailers/strollers!
